eBay

eBay, for the catalogues that actually suit it.

Account and store setup, listing and item specifics optimization, Promoted Listings and day-to-day management — run by people who know where eBay beats the alternatives.

The practice

An underrated channel for the catalogues that suit it.

eBay is routinely dismissed by brands who have never tested it, and routinely profitable for the ones who have. It rewards wide catalogues, refurbished and open-box inventory, parts and fitment-driven categories, and anything where buyers search by specification.

It also runs on a different logic to Amazon. Item specifics carry the weight that backend keywords do elsewhere, seller performance feeds visibility directly, and the store itself is a merchandising surface rather than a formality.

  • Item specifics are the ranking mechanism

eBay's search and filtering run on structured item specifics far more than on title text. Incomplete specifics remove a listing from the filtered browse where most category buyers actually shop.

  • Seller performance drives visibility

Top Rated status and seller performance standards affect placement and buyer confidence directly. Operational consistency is a marketing asset here.

  • Catalogue breadth is an advantage, not a burden

Where Amazon rewards depth on a few ASINs, eBay rewards wide, well-structured catalogues — which makes bulk listing quality and category mapping disproportionately valuable.

Questions

eBay FAQ

More on pricing, contracts and onboarding on the full FAQ page.

Is eBay still worth selling on?

For the right catalogue, yes — particularly parts, fitment-driven products, refurbished and open-box inventory, and wide ranges. For a narrow private-label catalogue competing on brand, usually less so. We will give you an honest read rather than a channel pitch.

Can we list our full catalogue in bulk?

Yes, and for large catalogues that is the right approach — but item specifics completeness has to survive the bulk process, because a bulk-listed catalogue with thin specifics is invisible in filtered browse.

Do we need an eBay Store subscription?

It depends on listing volume and the fee structure at that volume. We model it against your actual catalogue rather than defaulting to the subscription.
